Unit Director: Ms. Safoura Bighamian
This unit operates with the main mission of “safety first, before any medical procedures” for supervising the following activities:
- Supervising and maintaining patient safety levels
- Teaching and implementation of safety standards
- Gathering errors and investigation of gross errors and mistakes in relevant committees and reporting the result to those reporting the errors (wards, hospital staff, customers)
- Evaluating and analyzing the root of errors resulting in damage to patients or equipment
- Cooperating with experts and regulatory bodies of University of Medical Sciences
- Gathering statistical data related to patient safety including new bedsores, falling from the bed, hemolytic reaction, surgical mistakes, etc.
- Providing measures and analyzing the reasons for significant increase or decrease in these measures
- Storage regulation (counting, distribution and correct use of medications)
- Monitoring the performance of central sterilization units;
- Cooperating with hospital management and supervisors of other wards and units for reducing errors and malpractice and gaining the trust of clients;
